HP LP2275w LCD Monitor Review

HP isn’t pro-active in the monitor department but it often comes out with some great displays that give others a run for their money. HP LP2275w LCD Monitor is one such monitor that includes a host of features while delivering performance at the same time.

HP LP2275w LCD Monitor specifications :

  • hp_lp2275w: 19.9″ x 10″ x 14.8″
  • Weight : 18.7 lbs
  • Screen size: 22″
  • Image brightness : 300 cd/m2
  • Image contrast ratio : 1000:1

  • Maximum resolution : 1680 x 1050
  • Response time : 6 ms
  • Backlight life : 30,000 hours
  • Input : DisplayPort, DVI

The first thing you will notice about the design is the thickness of the panel. It is about 2″ thick but the overall dimensions are on the smaller side. The height of the display can be raised by a good four inches. It also supports pivoting as well as tilting it. The display can pivot by 90 degrees and rotate by 30 degrees. The display can be tilted by 30 degrees back and forth.

The display provides a grove at the back for carrying around the monitor easily and considering its bulky weight, it should certainly help. The input port options on the display are rather limited with just DVI and DisplayPort supported. HDMI support is missing which is rather disappointing. It does have a four USB ports though.

The display has a maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050 which does not translate to full HD. It will scale down HD content to its native resolution to display it. You can adjust the settings from the onscreen menu that is controlled by buttons provided on the right-hand side of the bezel. HP has provided a green light to calibrate the display in a dark room.

The performance of the display is its strongest point. The monitor easily out beats a lot of other latest monitors. The color reproduction is mind blowing, the best we have seen. It manages to easily outclass its competitors here and is it highly accurate with color reproduction. The viewing angle at 178 degrees just can’t get any better. The display is ideal for graphics designers as well as movie buffs. On the whole, it has excellent performance.

Pros :

  • High performance
  • Pivoting, rotation, tilting supported
  • Great viewing angle

Cons :

  • Limited input options
  • Requires calibration
  • Thick panel

Final Thoughts

The HP LP2275w LCD Monitor impresses with its performance but limited input options is its major drawback. It has excellent color reproduction and performance in general. The viewing angle is great at 178 degrees. Calibration is needed to yield best results. Design isn’t the best but not the worst out there.
