My camera does not turn on. but if i shake it a bit it turn on after pressing the power button. everything else is ok (taking pictures, videos, etc). what could be the problem? any fix on this?

No, you can not use it was a webcam.

Maybe you can reset the camera from the settings menu and see if that works.

It seems to be on some sort of video mode and i can’t get it to go away. It takes pictures but seems to be in slow motion when i review the pictures. Any idea how to change this or what it is doing?

Jessica, to fix the widescreen turn your camera on and while it’s on picture mode or program auto [ i don't think it makes a difference what mode it's on ], click the delete button at the bottom right. A box called “Image Size” should pop up and you’ll be able to change the size of the picture [and get rid of the widescreen].

Thomas, when you’re looking through your pictures, slide the zoom button on the top either way, and it should show you all of your pictures on your camera. Then click delete, and it should say delete “all in this folder”, “select”, or “exit”. (:

somehow my camera is on widescreen.
with a black line above and below the picture…

any ideas how to change it back?

Sony DSC-W55. Is there a way to mass delete images from the camera as opposed to having to scroll through and delete each one individually. It takes forever that way and is maddening!
